OBO Philadelphia Athletics 1943 Game Worn Road Jersey in Philadelphia, PA

This is a very rare Philadelphia Athletics road jersey from the 1943 season. The number "1" on the back of the jersey is not original to the shirt. An outline of the original number can still be seen but is difficult to make out the exact number. It is possible that the number could of been "9", "49", or maybe "41". Both a ?Goldsmith? and ?Mitchell & Ness? label appear on the inner front tail. The size ?44" and a portion of the year (??4?) are chain-stitched in red on the left front tail. The outline of the "3" in the year stitch can still be seen. The ?Stars and Stripes? patch that was worn by all the teams during the 1943 season has been removed but an outline of the patch can still be seen on the left sleeve. Other than the number and patch remove the jersey is original. The jersey shows moderate to heavy wear and does have a couple small stains.
