*Manages direct buying responsibility based on vendors or classifications
and accountability for sales and margin performance within a product
division against plan.
*The buyer will; - Opportunistically purchase highly compelling, quality, branded goods that represent an incredible value and inspiration to our customers.
*Prioritizes preservation of liquidity.
*Partners with DMM and planner to mange Open to Buy on a 90 day and seasonal basis.
*Manages receipts in terms of balancing assortments and flexing from
flow verses pack-away; effectively alters receipt flow based on business
trends.
*Analyzes business performance daily and weekly.
*Promptly reacts to changes in the business. Attacks slow selling product with aggressive pricing action.
*Manages pricing decisions, in partnership with DMM, to achieve
competitive position and CIMU plans.
*Shops all competition and stores regularly indentifying opportunities, labels, and trends.
*Partners with Planning and Allocation to achieve objectives.
*Trains and develops Assistant and Associate Buyers; creates agreed upon development goals with staff and works with them to achieve those milestones.
